A large canvas hangs like a protective layer over the musicians and audience, creating a space of tranquility and security. In Shelter , by David Lang, Julia Wolfe, and Michael Gordon, music and scenography merge into an experience where time and space blur.

The rhythmic sounds of Het Muziek (formerly Asko|Schönberg) pulsate like a heartbeat beneath the canvas, while Boris Acket’s lighting subtly sways along. Sound becomes tangible, the space becomes music. Not a traditional Christmas celebration, but a moment to surrender to sound, surroundings, and a shared experience.

Boris Acket
is a contemporary artist, composer, and director, active at the intersection of music, installation art, performance, and film. His work connects technology and sensory experience, often with a focus on nature and space. He has worked with Joep Beving, Colin Benders, and 4DSOUND, among others, and has presented at festivals such as STRP, ADE, and the Holland Festival.

Het Muziek
(formerly Asko|Schönberg) is the leading ensemble for new music in the Netherlands. They perform groundbreaking contemporary music in a variety of formats, from intimate chamber music to large-scale music theater productions, and actively seek collaborations with composers, artists, and audiences.
