Santiago Velo Quintairos was born in 1998 in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. He obtained bachelor of music and a bachelor of pedagogy in Salamanca, Spain, followed by a masters degree at Codarts, in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, under the guidance of Karin Dolman. He now lives in Rotterdam, developing his skills in arts and education. Also, thanks to Codarts, he is currently exploring the sound possibilities of the viola d´amore. His musical objective is to develop his own unique voice on the viola and expand the horizons of the viola tradition. He is half of “duo pole,” a guitar/viola duo.
