Canadian-German violinist Emma Meinrenken is a musician praised for her virtuosity and unique interpretations of both contemporary and standard repertoire. A recipient of many awards internationally, including the Presser Foundation Award, the Milka Violin Artist Prize, and the Prix Ravel, she is also the dedicatee of many new compositions for violin, recently premiering Maya Miro Johnson’s Violin Concerto with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the Yale School of Music, where she studied with Ida Kavafian and Augustin Hadelich respectively, she is currently a DMA candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center, under the guidance of Mark Steinberg.
