Brian Eno

Brian Eno Trilogy

Brian Eno (born on 15 May 1948 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England) is an English electronic musician, music theorist and record producer. As a solo artist, he is probably best known as the father of modern ambient music, though he is also a highly celebrated record producer.

In November 2015, Cantaloupe released Contact's arrangement of Discreet Music, marking the label's third acoustic reworking of an electronic Eno classic. With this record, Contact joins a growing list of ambient-inspired ensembles to pay homage to Eno, placing them alongside the Bang on a Can All-Stars who have championed their arrangement of Music for Airports as recently as their October 2015 performance at San Diego International Airport, and U.K.-based Icebreaker, who together with BJ Cole reimagined Eno's 1983 classic Apollo.
