Bang on a Can

"Song Before Love Songs (a post-apocalyptic requiem for the human race)" was inspired by a number of influences including Jared Diamond's "Guns, Germs and Steel"; the current spiraling of terrorist and nominally non-terrorist violence in the Middle East; and an attempt to recreate and expand upon one of my own previous musical compositions in reverse. It is an emergence from an imaginary lecture/sermon at a futuristic conference/service commemorating the now-extinct human race.
