People's Commissioning Fund
The People's Commissioning Fund is simple; we bundle together hundreds of individual contributions of all sizes. We select three or more new composers to write pieces for the phenomenal Bang on a Can All-Stars. All members of the Fund are then invited to join us in the intimate setting of an open rehearsal as well as at the premiere of these works. Since we started the Fund in 1997, fans of new music have joined together to commission dozens of new pieces of music.
Benefit
Each year, Bang on a Can selects a luminary from the world of contemporary art and music, and honors them with the Bang on a Can Visionary Award. Then we throw a party!
